One of two closely related paintings completed in 1995 as part of a much larger series of eight on this scale 198.12cm x 304.8cm. They are intended to be monumental and on a scale which can physically contain the human form. The image is built through a series of thin layers in acrylic to create an ambiguous shifting space as well as the implication of a powerful presence. The series is based on a much larger series of studies in watercolour which has continued over 20 years, (see Artwork 16).
