Lauren O'Grady

Working with the architecture of the space but not becoming a part of it this sculpture is born out of a lifetime of seeing American landscapes portrayed in film. You will have seen this imagery before. Balancing between the familiar and unfamiliar an eerie narrative unfolds, the unidentifiable white object in quiet occupation. Blurring the boundaries between reality and fiction the perspex tectonic plates and the raw wood finishes pull the viewer in and out.
