Original Screenprint in edition of 5. First in series "Enter the Sandman", whose titles originate in the lyrics of Metallica's heavy-metal lullaby. This track has been favoured by US interrogators, who have played at excruciating volume to disorientate and deprive Iraqi prisoners and Guantanamo detainees of sleep. The series emerged from my struggle to imagine the imperialist wars in Iraq and Aghanistan. The progression of the narrative in the series is an attempt to move from a distant position of passive, dream-like observation, to one of imaginative involvement and angry confrontation: a kind of wake-up call.
