Panoply was commissioned by the Bluecoat for 'Topophobia'. Built into one of the inaccessible parts of the building, a high corridor, the small wooden structure sits on top of scaffolding. I was present in the work during the exhibition, shifting around quietly in the space and putting my legs, hair and arms through various holes made in the work. Many visitors to the gallery didn't notice my presence. Panoply (meaning a complete suit of armour) is a place to hide and be protected, but there is no way down without assistance, so it also a kind of trap.
