Star Fort, - 2012
Star Fort is named after 'Trace Italianne' a kind of castle thought to be the ultimate defensive structure (its star shape meant that no one could approach without being seen from all angles). Made from old shutters (mirroring those in the room where it was shown), the structure is almost flat-pack, and hinges allow it to unfold to surround the person inside it and a second layer folds up and bolts into place to provide better hiding. Turned inside out, the top layer folds in on itself to make a box that covers the inhabitant completely.
