Nu-Urban Gardeners, 2009 - 2012

Garden Managers Chris Lewis-Jones and Simon Withers welcome you to the Nu-urban gardener’s. This site will be dedicated to all things NUG; from current development news, previous NUG activities though to offering tips on gardening.

The NU-Urban Gardeners draw influence from the hallowed tome, ‘The efficient Gardener’ Handbook’ written and published in 1959 by the illustrious and notorious member of The Worshipful Company of Gardeners, Thomas Bancroft (1895-1980).
The NUGS seek to exercise and promote the art of good miniature gardening throughout the kingdom. NUGS seek to encourage and support the development of educational projects through the participation of NUG activities. By participating in NUG events you also become a follower of the fraternity and wherever and whenever possible we hope that you help spread our good name and help us create new projects.

‘The misterie of gardening is an activity of mission; leading to a profound sense of belonging.’
‘The efficient Gardener’ Handbook’ pg.2 Thomas Bancroft (1959)
