Beneath The Walnut Tree, - 2012

On the 28th of March 2012, I slept beneath a Walnut tree in New Cross, London.

Walnuts and walnut trees feature prominently in Western folklore, often appearing as symbols of mystery and the unknown. It is said that if one sleeps beneath a Walnut tree, he or she will see their future in their dreams.

Using this lore as a starting point, the work aimed to create a stimulating and accessible narrative to encourage storytelling within the urban environment of South East London.

The work was devised and produced in collaboration with Fiona Allison who created a body of text works in and response to the action. These works serve as the only documentation of the action and are presented in a hand made publication which is available to buy.
