Helen Robertson

This is a partial view of an installational work that creates a suggested (imaginary) room outlined by two large sheets of clear film suspended at right angles to each other to establish a corner and a blue length of wood diametrically opposite. Within this designated space blue footprints track an absent body. The suspended elements sway dramatically with the slightest air-current/movement of the viewer. An animated projected triangle traverses the work creating an ephemeral live action of which the only substance is light. In this piece there is a reference to Yves Klein’s body prints and his ideas on dematerialisation.
