GI2012: Moments of Greatness, 2012

This was a performance/ lecture we created with theatre maker Gary McNair to coincide with our exhibition "The Universe is very big, you are very small, act accordingly" which was a comissioned piece of work for Glasgow International 2012 and was held at The Arches venue in the City Centre.

The idea of the exhibition was to try to understand the concept of the moment/ the present in the grander scheme of the history of the Universe.

We focused on the many worlds theory of the Universe and that the "present" when a choice is made. The path leading up to this choice is "the past", the potential paths leading from that choice is "the future" and the only "present" that we can ever experience is the act of chosing.

The event itself consisted of a series of short science/ astro lectures on different concepts of time exploring the above and discussing the idea of the moment, while the audience enjoyed a 3 course time related menu.

Between the talks a network of blank alarm clocks activate on the dinners tables and signal various "small happenings" with the audience interacting with Gary and a set of games involving the concepts of the exhibition.

It was very popular and extended into a run of events.
