The Accoutrements of Perseus, 2009 - 2012

The Accoutrements of Perseus are a collection from my Sculpture to Wear series which I also used in making the Medusa and Perseus animation. They consist of a sickle of copper coated iron and steel, a woven copper helmet, a silicone bronze and steel shield, armour made from copper plated steel leather and iron, shoes from aluminium and steel, a basket (kibisis) made form iron silicone bronze, lead, leather and copper. They refer to elements of the Perseus story in classical mythology in which they were given to him by various gods to help him kill Medusa.
