WHITE TAPE PROPOSAL 2012
CONCEPT AND BACKGROUND
This work was inspired by the ropes put around the cricket pitches in the local park. The white tape set on a green background calls to mind cricket whites and sporting whites more generally. The long looped tapes take their form from this and have some references to sport and speed but also transcend their origins, capturing the wind and referring to wind power, sails, ocean waves and speed, perhaps the streaming of information or energy in a pure form, see video.
The photos show a real life 3D sketch of the work that will be increased in size by at least x 4.
