This was the beginning of work created after I heard an interview with Andrew Sachs recorded in London Zoo. It was about his Berlin childhood-his love of Berlin Zoo and subsequently London Zoo. I went to both Berlin and London Zoos in my childhood. I decided to visit London Zoo as an adult and looked for the Tapir, Andrew's favourite but alas it wasn't home. My adult view was very different and I made a series of paintings devoid of animals but full of colour.
