This is a sculptural moving-image work. On screen there are five 30 second takes of different pumpkins and ten 30 second takes of wind turbines turning. The film was originally shot on 16mm film, which gives the pumpkins a richness and 3-dimensionality reminiscent of 17th century Still Life painting. The wind turbines (technology of the future?) were filmed in black and white making them look dated, here there is a reference to Dutch Landscape painting. The laptop and tangled orange flex are intrinsic to the work. The laptop wires connect the film to its power source, just as the stems connect the pumpkins to the earth and the wind turbines feed the national grid.
