A visit to Australia gave me an opportunity to explore a very different landscape of strong earth colours and a hot climate. This contrast to my home landscape of Derbyshire, all greens, greys and dampness prompted me to work with stronger colours in this piece. I often use the circle as a form and it seems as relevant to the ancient land of Australia as to my work based on England.
