Lovely ignorance
A lie behind naiveness and the obliteration of childhood innocence. Abuse, terror, abandonment are factors that destroy purity and the hope of a decent life. With this body of work I wanted to draw attention to the casual blind-eye, engaged when we as a society attempt to deny responsibility of knowing the painful truth. Using and incorporating found objects, images of suffering children and vintage fairytale books of 'Alice in Wonderland' and transforming them into collages and paintings, now making a reference to the narrative 'Alice's Adventures in Wonderland'. The child only knows the world it lives in, a playful up-side down world despite the horrors and atrocities.
