A commission as part of a Residency in Sunderland, to design and make sixteen small panels for the front doors to retirement homes for Durham Aged Mineworkers’ Home Association. It was the first time that the Association had commissioned any artwork. The theme was ‘The Seasons of the Year’ and all panels were fitted within a 200mm opening in each door. All panels were treated decoratively, involving painting, staining, slumping and acid etching; whichever process best suited the execution of each image.
